Sixty-four seniors modeled the latest fashions down the runway at the 27th Annual Mothers Club Fashion Show and Luncheon. The event, this year themed “The Mig17ty”, was held Sunday in the Moiso Family Pavilion with over 200 guests in attendance. The longtime SMCHS tradition celebrated the class of 2017 while directly supporting student programs.
All proceeds from the show directly support student programs through the Mothers Club Grant Program. Over the years, the grant program has helped fund the printing of the school’s creative writing publication, student enrichment opportunities, new musical instruments, art supplies, digital media and theatre tech equipment, health services needs for the nurses’ office, as well as library resources and various other department requests. Last year, $30,000 was awarded to qualifying school programs and services through the grants. In addition, two scholarships were awarded to seniors.
The fashion show is put on by the SMCHS Mothers Club, an active group of Santa Margarita moms who support the school and one another. The Mothers Club is currently led by co-presidents and Santa Margarita mothers Debbie McGregor and Kris Peters. Santa Margarita parent Angie Rowe chaired the event.
In a true celebration of the senior class, the event culminated with the traditional Parade of Colleges with 87 SMCHS students modeling college sweatshirts showcasing where they will continue their educational journey.
