Gavin Escobar ’09 tight end for San Diego State was named to the First-Team All-Mountain West. Escobar was named to the first team after being picked as a second-team selection his freshman season.
Gavin has 47 catches for 710 yards this season. Gavin has seven touchdown receptions, a team high. Escobar's 47 catches and the 710 yards are the most by a San Diego State tight end since Kerry Reed-Martin. Escobar's 59 receiving yards per game ranks third in the country among tight ends. He has two-100 yard receiving games this season as well.
Look for Gavin on December 17, 2011 playing in the R + L Carriers New Orleans Bowl where the SDSU Aztecs will take on La Fayette.
