Mr. John Remmell
Model United Nations (MUN) is an academic simulation of the real United Nations. Students from different high schools act as delegates from the UN. This educational experience introduces students to international politics and diplomacy. Students that participate in MUN develop research skills, public speaking expertise, interpersonal flair, and the ability to compromise.

Important Information for Incoming Freshmen:
Incoming Freshman interested in taking Model UN should sign up to take Health during the summer. Cultural Geography/MUN is a yearlong course as opposed to the regular Cultural Geography that is a semester long. The Health class that students will miss is a graduation requirement and should be taken during the summer before Freshman year. Please contact the counseling department to sign up for the Health class. Contact Mr. Remmell (remmellj@smhs.org) if you have questions about MUN.
