SMCHS Aquatic Center
Home of 142 All-Americans and 3 NCAA Champions

SMCHS opened its newest facility on its 42-acre campus on September 28, 2007. The eight-month construction project was much anticipated by all in the SM Community. The new Aquatic Center boasts a 755,550 gallon, 50-meter by 25-yards (18 lanes) competition pool, stadium seating for 450 spectators, office space for team rooms, and a concession area. The SMCHS Aquatic Center has the ability to host high school, club, national and international Water Polo and Swimming events.

The first competition in the new pool took place on Friday, October 5, 2007. The Boys Water Polo team was victorious in their first home match. The Aquatic Center will also be home for the following SMCHS teams: Girls Water Polo, Boys & Girls Swimming and SMCHS Diving.

The Aquatic Center was officially blessed by the Bishop of Orange, Tod D. Brown on Sunday, October 14th. In his blessing, Bishop Brown proclaimed, “May the waters of this pool always remind us of the bounty and goodness with which God provides for His people.”
