What is the ID Program?

The Interdisciplinary courses are offered in triads. Students’ curriculum is designed to the related subject areas, making natural connections among the disciplines. Research shows that making material more meaningful allows students to see purpose to the lesson and retain more of the information. Quarterly fieldtrips and cross-curricular projects are used to enable students to see connections among the disciplines. The program is highly academic.

The courses offered in the Interdisciplinary Triad are college preparatory courses that are all UC approved. They parallel the curriculum presented in the more traditional classes. The triads vary by grade level and students may opt to stay in the program throughout their Freshman, Sophomore, Junior and Senior years or move in/out of the program on a yearly basis as meets their needs. Students wishing to enroll in this program may do so during spring registration.
