A Cutting Edge Program

Our conviction at SMCHS is that by equipping students with advanced technological skills, we prepare them well for the demands of secondary and collegiate level academics. In addition, we provide them with the technological skills expected of today's workforce. Not only do we integrate technology into all areas of our academic courses, we also have a strong commitment to offering a stand-alone Technology Program comprised of the finest facilities, courses and faculty.

Providing students with a unique range of opportunities, electives are offered in computer programming, computer applications, video production, video graphics and TV production. Our technology faculty have a breadth of experience and a depth of knowledge both in the classroom and various technology industries, allowing them to bridge the gap for students, bringing real world insight into this discipline. Our computer labs and TV studio have been a priority for capital expenditure and these facilities are state-of-the-art. Upon graduating from SMCHS, our students are fluent in the application of computer technology.

Eagle Television

Eagle Television (ETV) provides state-of-the-art videotaping of SMCHS activities such as football, basketball, plays, musicals, graduation, Eucharistic celebrations, and much more. ETV offers students the unique opportunity to learn all levels of television production, including scripting, shooting, editing, directing, and producing. Student programs are seen on local cable companies, on the Catholic Television Network of Orange County, as well as both live and taped announcements.

Our facilities include eleven edit bays as well as a mobile production truck. Under the direction of our ETV director, Mr. Corey Lindabury, our students produce a daily news broadcast. Our curriculum includes four different production classes and a graphic compositing class. Three of our video classes are UC approved and the fourth is an Independent Study class for students interested in further developing their skills in the video production arena.
