Student Service Inventory
- List activities in which you regularly participate (i.e. sports, music,
drama etc.).
- List the subjects you enjoy and do well in at school.
- Do you have any particular career interests?
- List the community/local/global issues that concern you the most.
- Based on your answers to the above four questions, is there
something that you want to learn more about?
- What time, given all of your current responsibilities, can you
realistically schedule for a service activity? What days and time are most
convenient to you?
- What skills would you bring to a service activity? What skills would
you like to learn?
- Do you want to work with people? Children or adults? What
experience do you already have in this area?
- Do you want to be outdoors working with environmental groups?
Do you have any experience in this area?
- Do you like working with animals that need to be rehabilitated?
What skills do you bring to this type of service?
- Are you interested in teaching about your faith tradition through
leading faith based class discussions or retreats? Do you have experience
in doing this? Do you have a contact?
- Consider that certain service organizations, such as retirement
homes, hospitals, Boys and Girls Clubs and animal shelters have an age
limit, require an interview and some sort of training as well as time
commitment. Can you give 3 months, 6 months, or a year to a service
organization? Do you see value in giving this type of commitment? Why?
