The following are School Sponsored Trips open to freshman, sophomores, juniors and seniors.
Freshman: please see the link to the right to learn more about the new Freshman Program for the 2011-2012 school year. Next Step: Next Step is a student service association that works with the O.C. Sheriff office in developing programs to raise awareness among junior high school students about the danger of drugs and the drug culture. SMCHS students travel to local junior high schools, presenting programs that teach kids not only why to say "no" but how. If you are interested in being a part of this group, see Ms. Margaret Dzida. See the Campus Ministry Calendar for the dates of the first meeting and for the date and times for the presentations at Serra School and St. John's School. Youth Advocacy Day formerly known as Catholic Lobby Day: Each year for the past three years a group of SMCHS students have traveled to Sacramento to lobby our representatives on pending legislation. The issues discussed are identified by the California Bishop's Conference as aligned with or contrary to core Catholic teachings. The day is spent with other groups representing their diocese, preparing, speaking, marching on the capitol, and celebrating the Mass together, as well as lobbying. Youth Advocacy Day takes place March 19 & 20th, 2012. We will be arriving the day before to prepare and to see a few of the historical sites in our state's capitol. If you are interested in going, see Ms.Dzida. Special Olympics:
Friday November 11th, 2011 we will hosting the Special Olympics Track & Field event at SMCHS. If you would like to volunteer to help with this event you must attend the 2 training meetings.
