Scholarship Name: RICHARD HUNSAKER SCHOLARSHIP
Type of Scholarship: SMCHS Tuition Scholarship
Distribution Amount: An amount up to $5000 to be distributed between four students
Distribution Method: Award will be applied according to your tuition payment schedule

History:
Richard Hunsaker was one of the founding donors of SMCHS. His son, David, graduated in the class of 1992. In December of 2004, when Richard retired from his civil engineering company, Hunsaker and Associates, the company decided to honor him by giving SMCHS a $100,000 donation to create an endowment for tuition assistance in his name. Up to four current SMCHS students will be selected this year, with the total award being distributed between the selected students.
Criteria/Requirements:
The established scholarship criteria is as follows:
- Demonstrate financial need. – FACTS Application Required
- Junior or senior student, male or female.
- GPA of 3.0 or above and exhibit strong character.
- Have an interest in the sciences or engineering (potentially as a future college major or career).
- Completion of the Richard Hunsaker application form.
- The scholarship recipient will write an acknowledgement letter to the donor with a copy to SMCHS Advancement Department.
