Athletic Training Office
Santa Margarita Catholic High School students grades 9-11 interested in a medical career may apply to be a student athletic trainer. Seniors wishing to be a student athletic trainer must have at least one semester of experience prior to the fall semester of their senior year.

The student athletic trainer will receive P.E. credit  for each semester they remain in the program.

Student athletic trainers are required to be in the athletic training room two days per week; either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday until approximately 4:30pm. Friday is make up day should the student miss one of the assigned days.

Student athletic trainer duties will consist of:
1. Assist in day-to-day operation of the athletic training room.
2. Learn basic biological functions of the body's major systems.
3. Learn basic taping/bracing techniques for various body parts.
4. Assist in the medical care of Eagle athletic teams on game day.
The SMCHS student athletic training program is a great way for students aspiring to join the medical field to get first hand experience dealing with athlete injuries and help the Eagle teams to victory.
