Welcome to the SMCHS BOY’S ICE HOCKEY web page.  Santa Margarita Catholic High School’s Ice Hockey Team has concluded their inaugural season. With the support of the NHL Anaheim Ducks the 09-10 season has established the Eagles ice hockey team as a nationally competitive varsity high school team.
This inaugural year has seen the team grow and come together as a true team both on and off the ice. Team members not only played some very entertaining and successful hockey, they had a great time together and with other Santa Margarita students after the games and at school social events such as the Homecoming Dance and Winter Formal.
The on-ice successes included:
Champion – 11th Annual Midwest Thanksgiving High School Hockey Tournament
Champion – 11th Annual Coyotes Cup Holiday Hockey Festival 2009
Finalist – 6th Annual LA Jr. Kings President’s Day 2010 Tier Challenge
Champion – Anaheim Ducks High School Ice Hockey League
Overall record of 21-12-5 (W-L-T)
The school has hopes of building a strong prep-school hockey program with a varsity and JV team in the following years. Contact the team @ smchs-hockey@hotmail.com if you are interested in playing Ice Hockey for next year.
Home games are played at Anaheim Ice, the practice facility of the Anaheim Ducks.
