Gifts to the Teacher Retention Fund help Santa Margarita Catholic High School attract and retain dedicated faculty, providing an excellent education experience for our students. Long term teachers are invaluable and have helped shaped Santa Margarita into what it is today. The fund allows Santa Margarita to keep these talented teachers who are presented with higher paying opportunities at neighboring schools. Given that area public schools teachers earn 10 to 15 percent more than diocesan teachers, the school would like to provide as much additional financial support as possible. The annual awards to teachers are based on years of service at Santa Margarita.
Maintaining a competitive environment will require continued support from the community through gifts to the Teacher Retention Fund.
Why We Give
"As parents of a senior and a sophomore at Santa Margarita, we have witnessed how the teachers at SM have helped shape our children. For this reason, we are proud to chair this year’s Teacher Retention Fund."
Jill and Igor Noriega, TRF chairs and SM parents
“These teachers have sacrificed so much for our children. They could have taken a career path that would have been more financially flexible, but instead they are committed to our kids. The Teacher Retention Fund can make a difference and shows affection for our teachers.”
Ralph Linzmeier, SM parent
“The teacher retention fund is a thank you. To have the best school, you have to have the best teachers. When you are blessed to have good teachers, you want to reward and recognize them for their commitment. The teachers at Santa Margarita care for our kids. They don’t just teach, they inspire and prepare our students for life."
Bob Gau, alumni parent
