A vibrant campus life is created not only by students, faculty and staff, but also by dedicated and caring volunteers. As we begin the new school year, we want our volunteers to know that they are one of our most cherished assets. They have given countless hours of their time to a variety of school endeavors. We thank all of these generous, spirited and committed parents and friends. The Volunteer Program Coordinators for the 2007-2008 school year are Diane Cimino, Bob Hebner, Tricia Kingley and Kyle Van Boom. They coordinate programs and communicate with parents and friends who wish to volunteer their services. To volunteer for any positions, please see Volunteer Forms.
Spotlight on Volunteer Positions
SMCHS Docents Docents give private tours of the SMCHS campus Monday through Friday during school hours year round. Training is offered in October and April with scripts provided. The time commitment is somewhat flexible and availability could be once or twice a month. The ideal tour time is 10 a.m. but also offered at 11 a.m. or 1 p.m. The average length of a tour is one and a half hours, but varies with each family. We look for Docents with a positive attitude and someone who enjoys talking with people and sharing their pride in SMCHS. Our volunteers are truly ambassadors for the school and are the liaison between the prospective family and the Administration. It's a great way to meet people and learn all you can about the school. Docents are also invited to participate in the 8th Grade Visitation Day and the SMCHS Open House in the fall.

Counseling Office Volunteers contribute to the efficiency of the Counseling office by organizing incoming information on scholarships, colleges and test prep courses. A familiarity with MS Excel and Word is ideal since some of this information will be entered into the computer.
