Berkeley MUN Trip Garners Best Class Delegation Award

Berkeley MUN Trip Garners Best Class Delegation Award

Santa Margarita’s Model United Nations (MUN) program achieved outstanding success at the 73rd annual Berkeley Model United Nations (BMUN) conference, bringing home the prestigious “Best Class” delegation award along with multiple individual honors. The conference's top honor, the award recognizes the collective performance of a school.

BMUN, hosted by the University of California, Berkeley, is one of the most competitive and well-respected MUN conferences in the country. It draws over 2,000 high school delegates from across the world to debate and collaborate on pressing global issues. Over the course of the three-day conference, Santa Margarita’s delegates showcase their diplomatic skills, research and leadership, earning recognition for their exceptional performance in committee.

“This award is a testament to the dedication, passion, and hard work of our students,” said John Remmell, SMCHS MUN Director. “We are incredibly proud of their achievements and the way they represented our school.”

This is the third time in school history the program has achieved this designation. The SMCHS Model United Nations program, one of the premier MUN programs in Southern California, emphasizes academic excellence, public speaking, and international awareness. Through participation in conferences like BMUN, students develop skills in negotiation, critical thinking, and policy analysis, shaping them into the next generation of global leaders.
