Girls Varsity Water Polo Gives Back Through Meaningful Service

Santa Margarita Catholic High School Girls Varsity Water Polo put their commitment to Christian Service into action through a meaningful partnership with Vocational Visions. The team spent an afternoon at the organization’s House of Champions Clubhouse, engaging with adults with developmental disabilities.

“Our team had so much fun doing crafts, karaoke, and puzzles together with everyone at Vocational Visions. It was a great team bonding experience and a fun way to serve our local community,” said team captains Ari Da Silva ’26, Kiley Stoufflet ’27 and Courtney Backhus ’27.

Vocational Visions’ House of Champions Clubhouse provides a safe, welcoming environment for adults 18 and older with developmental disabilities, offering weekend social and recreational programs designed to foster connection, joy and relaxation. Members can participate in daily activities or spend time with friends in a supportive setting.

Head Coach Aaron Arias reflected on the impact of the service experience: “In our school's year of humility, serving alongside Vocational Visions was a meaningful reminder of what community is all about. Our team had the chance to step outside ourselves, connect with an incredible group of people and grow together through service. I’m proud of how our student athletes embraced the experience with genuine compassion and heart. All thanks to the hard work of our Campus Ministry team and Christian Service leader Mr. Donnie Green, who made this possible for our team.”
