The Nick Kraus Memorial Concert is held each year in memory of beloved Santa Margarita teacher, Mr. Nicholas David Kraus. Santa Margarita performing and visual artists gathered to present art, dance, and music with a holiday twist in the beautiful setting of the Segerstrom Concert Hall and lobby.
“This year's Kraus show was a spirited and memorable performance,” said dancer Ava Sherwood ’26. “It was beautiful to honor the life of Mr. Nick Kraus with music and dance.”
The concert showcased various musical ensembles with over 300 students, and dozens of pieces of art by Santa Margarita visual artists were on display in the lobby for viewing, as well.
Executive Director of Performing Arts Francisco Calvo expressed his gratitude for the evening and all who were part of this special tradition.
“There was no better way to honor the 10th anniversary of Nick's passing. The students performed brilliantly, the artwork was spectacular, and the SM community gathered in the holiday spirit, filling the center with beauty and love,” Calvo said. “I am thankful to the Kraus Family—they have never missed this concert. I am thankful to our administration for supporting this tradition. And I am so proud to be a part of an incredible performing arts department. Nick was a huge part of this team, and I think we made him proud."
