Seniors Honored at Collegiate Artists Breakfast

Seniors Honored at Collegiate Artists Breakfast

A few of our seniors who will be majoring or minoring in arts were honored at a breakfast to commemorate their accomplishments and wish them well as they begin their final weeks at SM. Students and their families were invited to be recognized, and all performing and visual arts teachers were present to join the celebration.

Executive Director of Performing Arts Francisco Calvo spoke to students, telling them that pursuing their art is a brave, important thing. He also added that it won’t always be easy, but they have the skills gained from their time at SM and the faculty who care about them to fall back on.

Visual Arts faculty member Pam Toomey also addressed students, saying that when they do their art, it is a gift for them but also for others.

“Your art is part of you,” Toomey said. “It doesn’t ever leave you.”

She gifted each student a paintbrush as a reminder of the foundation they received at Santa Margarita and gave the group a blessing.

The following are our students pursuing arts in college.
