Students Decorate Pumpkins with Retirement Home Residents

Santa Margarita's student-led Alzheimer’s OC club brought Halloween pumpkins and fun to the residents at a local retirement home. SM students from the club decorated pumpkins with residents, who then took the festive creations to their rooms for decorations.

"It was such a fun experience because we all got to meet different kinds of people and talked about many different things while assisting them with decorating their pumpkins how they wanted," said  Lola Benhabiles '25.

The purpose of Alzheimer's OC Club is to stay involved with senior communities such as Care Homes and Assisted Living Facilities in Orange County. The club President, Kiera Allado '25 helps organize fun activities and events that aim to provide support and joy to the elderly. The club works with the Alzheimer's Association of Orange County and SeniorCareHomes.com. Together with ALZOC and SCH, the Alzheimer's OC Club will organize events that will benefit the senior care industry in Orange County.
