Summer Innovation Lab: SM Faculty

What happens when teachers come together to explore new possibilities for how students learn? This summer, 12 teams of Santa Margarita faculty participated in our Summer Innovation Labs to redesign assessments, assignments and instructional practices for today's learners.

As AI continues to change the learning landscape, bringing both new challenges and opportunities, our teachers explored new approaches while keeping critical thinking, student engagement, creativity, human judgment and academic rigor at the center. Supported by administrators, higher education experts and a panel of students who helped test-drive their ideas, these faculty teams are now bringing their redesigned approaches into the classroom this fall. They also shared their work with their colleagues as part of the faculty’s professional development at the start of the school year.
