The SMCHS Varsity Song Team had a successful trip to the National Dance Team Championship in Orlando, Florida. The team came in fourth for their jazz routine and seventh for pom and were up against over forty teams in their large varsity divisions. Additionally, they competed in the World Championships, coming in first place in the varsity jazz division.
“We are so proud of them for representing SM so well,” said Director and Head Coach Danielle Darwazeh.
Varsity Song had the highest US team score in this championship against routines of all styles.
“As a team, we are so proud that our placements reflected our hard work and dedication,” said senior captain Katie Vlasic. “I am so blessed to be a part of such an amazing program on and off stage.”
