5 Eagles Qualified for CIF Championships; Hutton Steele Places 7th at CIF

The Eagles delivered a great performance at the CIF Individual Championships, with 2 wrestlers qualifying in the CIF championship tournament, and 3 Alternates getting at large bids

Leading the way was team captain Hutton Steele, who earned an impressive 7th-place finish. Steele narrowly missed qualifying for Masters after a heartbreaking 5–3 loss in the closing seconds of the blood round against Lancaster. Refusing to let the setback define his tournament, he battled back with determination and secured his spot on the podium by pinning Valencia/Placentia in the placing match. His resilience, leadership, and relentless work ethic were on full display throughout the competition — a true testament to the hard work he has put in all season.

At 113 pounds, Oliver Mohamed went 2–2, showing grit and competitiveness in every match. At 144 pounds, Ryan Romero finished 1–2, fighting through a tough bracket and gaining valuable postseason experience. Kevin Brown, wrestling at 190 pounds, also went 2–2 and demonstrated toughness against strong competition.

At 175 pounds, Kevin Chapman went 0–2, but both matches were tightly contested, reflecting his growth and determination despite the results.

Overall, the Eagles had five wrestlers fight hard in the CIF Individual Championships and represented their program with pride. Congratulations to Hutton Steele and all the athletes for their hard work, perseverance, and commitment throughout the season. We look forward to next season!

A very young team. I'm proud of the work they put in. I can teach all the skills in the world, but I can't teach the fire they carry inside, and that's relentless perseverance. Congratulations on a great season, lets get ready for the next one today.."  - Coach Nava
