The Santa Margarita Catholic High School Wrestling program wrapped up a successful wrestling summer camp, giving athletes an opportunity to sharpen their skills, build team chemistry, and prepare for the upcoming 2026–27 wrestling season.
Throughout camp, athletes worked hard both on and off the mat, focusing on wrestling technique, conditioning, strength, discipline, and the mindset needed to compete at a high level. The camp provided wrestlers with valuable training opportunities while creating an environment centered around teamwork, accountability, and personal growth.
One of the biggest highlights of the summer was seeing returning athletes continue to develop while welcoming new wrestlers into the Santa Margarita Wrestling family. The commitment and effort demonstrated throughout camp are a strong indication of the potential this team has heading into the new season with 4 returning CIF Qualifiers and 1 CIF Placer (Oliver Mohamed, Ryan Romero, Hutton Steele, Kevin Chapman, and Kevin Brown).
Head Coach Joseph Nava and the Santa Margarita coaching staff, Coach Ballesteros and Coach Garrett are proud of the work the athletes put in throughout the summer. The goal of summer training was not simply to get better at wrestling, but to build the character, discipline, and confidence necessary to succeed in competition and in life.
As the Eagles look ahead to the 2026–27 season, the foundation has been laid. The work continues. First Practice of pre-season begins on August 24th, 2026, in the Weight Room at 6:45am.
