Thea Le '22 Back in the Saddle as SM Equestrian Advisor
Santa Margarita Catholic High School is excited to announce the return of Thea Le '22 as the new equestrian advisor. Le was a four-year member of the SMCHS equestrian team and team captain during her junior and senior year. She returns to SMCHS with a wealth of equestrian experience and accolades. Le actively competes in the "A" level circuit in the armature hunters, jumpers and equitation.
During her Orange County Interscholastic Equestrian League (OCIEL) tenure from 2017-2022, she won many championships and reserved champion titles. OCIEL is a publicly supported non-profit corporation operating exclusively for charitable and educational purposes to foster regional and national amateur equestrian sports competitions.
"We are blessed to have Thea return to SMCHS as the equestrian advisor. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the equestrian program. Her love for SMCHS and the equestrian program will guide the team and the riders to success," said SMCHS Activities Director Alicia Sayles '00."
The equestrian team has won the OCIEL Overall High Point School nine times over the past decade. Other awards include individual champions and league titles.
Former equestrian advisor Candice Tupajec said, "Thea was always an integral, inspiring team member. The team is in excellent hands with her as the new adviser. She's well-versed and well-respected in the equestrian world, with much experience as a rider."
Le said, "I am thrilled to return to the nest as the equestrian team advisor! This role is even more special to me because horses, to myself and many others, are a haven, and I love combining it with the loving and inspiring environment of the nest. Four years were not enough. Here's to many more!"
