If you’re worried about your child’s screen use negatively impacting their mental health, you’re not alone. In this video, Dr. Bryson talks about screens and social media, and the potential role they play in the quality of teens' mental health, as well as what we can do as parents to provide antidotes to those risk factors. She’ll also give us some ways to think about our parenting roles when it comes to setting boundaries, teaching our kids to be good digital citizens, and being thoughtful about what we’re modeling when it comes to social media. Beyond just the impractical advice of getting our kids off devices, Dr. Bryson give practical ways we can amplify the positive benefits and reduce the negative risks when it comes to social media.
We are thrilled to partner with the internationally acclaimed author and Founder/Executive Director of The Center for Connection, Tina Payne Bryson, Ph.D. , to answer your questions about parenting teens. This 12-week series for the SMCHS community will be shared on Wednesdays via all social media channels and on Thursdays via the Eagle Update.
