Rainbow Sandals Foundation Generously Supports SMCHS Wellness Project

Santa Margarita was blessed to be one of the recipients of a generous donation from the Rainbow Sandals Foundation. Owner Jay Longley believes in giving back to the community and honors many organizations in our community. When George Cou, dedicated teacher at Santa Margarita and his wife Wanda, mentioned to Longley our special project of a wellness center being incorporated into campus, Jay graciously offered to contribute a gift of $10,000 in support of this worthy initiative benefitting the students.

A portion of the first floor of the G building is currently being modified to serve as the new Caritas Christi Center, a much-needed resource and place for students to relax and unwind. Scheduled to open at the end of January, the center will serve as the integrated home for the school’s wellness program and campus ministry and activities teams. The school's recently expanded wellness program will continue to provide a range of resources and referrals to support students and their families in meeting the challenges of adolescence through prevention, early intervention and education. Additionally, the repurposed space will provide a place for connection to support the well-being of students.
