With only a few more days left in the FRC Build Season, SMBLY REQUIRED is counting down to "Bag Day" on
February 19, when all FRC teams are required to stop building their robots, seal them in a large bag, and leave them untouched until the day of their first competition. Time is tight and our team is using every second left to perfect the final construction of the robot. Designers are making final changes, programmers are coding the robot to execute strategies, and machinists are fabricating numerous robot parts so that all assembly required is completed by the deadline.
Although the countdown clock is ticking, we are always up for some FRC “Coopertition” (cooperation + competition). Last week SMBLY REQUIRED had the chance to meet and assist a new rookie FRC team from Portola Hills High School, the Bionic Bulldogs Team 7447. Our team members helped them with building their drive base, robot programming skills, and provided them with needed tools and materials to help them assemble their robot. We were happy to demonstrate our values of "gracious professionalism" and "Caritas Christi" toward these rookie competitors. We hope that sharing our knowledge and experience helps them launch their team into a successful FIRST Robotics Competition season.
SMBLY REQUIRED is proud of the progress we have made this season and is looking forward to presenting our new robot to the FRC world at our first regional competition here in Orange County from February 28- March 2. Check out the FIRSTOC website for event details and the DESTINATION: DEEP SPACE game challenge video -- stay tuned for more details on how you can show your support for our robotics Eagles!
SMBLY REQUIRED would like to thank APPLIED MEDICAL, SMCHS MOTHER'S CLUB, BOEING, SOLIDWORKS, EXACT, and FREEDOM NATIONAL INSURANCE for their generous sponsorships and support of our 2018-19 robotics season.
