SMCHS Performs in Honor of Mr. Nicholas David Kraus

The Santa Margarita Catholic High School Performing and Visual Arts presented this one night event in loving memory of the beloved Mr. Nicholas David Kraus, a former performing arts teacher at Santa Margarita whose life was tragically cut short as a result of a car accident.

The SMCHS performing and visual artists gathered to present beautiful art and music in the magnificent setting of the Reneé and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall and lobby. The musical performance showcased a wide variety of ensembles including the award winning choral program, under the direction of Francisco Calvo, world music and percussion led by Amanda Duncan, and the highly respected SMCHS Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Michael Whang.

Prior to the concert and during intermission, the lobby featured pieces of art from students from the Visual Arts Department.

Proceeds from this concert fund the Nick Kraus Memorial Scholarship which is awarded to selected senior students who have declared a major in music, and have demonstrated the integrity, excellence, and character befitting of Mr. Kraus.
