Talon Theatre Brings Home Coveted MACY Award

Santa Margarita Catholic High School’s Talon Theatre spring musical, The Secret Garden was awarded Spirit of the MACY Awards for Best Musical of the Year at the 52^nd Annual Spirit of the MACY Awards on Sunday, June 5 at the Cerritos Performing Arts Center. Talon Theatre students received thirty-five awards in all for The Fantasticks and The Secret Garden including Best Male and Female Vocalist for Danny Troyan and Olivia Orellana as Archibald Craven and Mary Lennox and Best Supporting Actress for Sarah Clarke as Martha.

Annie Mulvihill received a $750 MACY scholarship to apply to her studies in theatre in college.

"The MACY Award is equivalent to winning CIF and is a rare and great honor," said Amy Luskey-Barth, Artistic Director Talon Theatre. While numerous shows have been recognized over the years, the last time SMCHS won the MACY was in 2014 for Pippin.
