A life is unimportant except in the impact its has on others.

Eagle Baseball hosted the Little League Challenger Division on Saturday, April 6. The Challenger Division is Little League's adaptive program for individuals with physical and intellectual challenges. The game featured the Aliso Viejo Little League Angels and the Ladera Ranch Little League Dodgers. SMCHS players taught, assisted and played with both teams in a spirited competition. Eagle players also announced the game, ran the scoreboard, and barbecued for the post game picnic. It was a fun and exciting day for all, with the game played to a 21-21 tie in 3 innings. In the words of Coach Chris Malec, “This day is a celebration of the love for baseball and community. It is a great way to get our student athletes involved in the community, and share their knowledge and love of the game.” Senior Jeff Bounds reflected: “The Challenger game reminds me of the happiness in the little things in life. It is the biggest day of the year for some of these kids. The smiles on the kids’ faces after getting a hit or fielding a ball is irreplaceable. This day reminds me of how I am called to use what God has given me for the good of others."
