Freshman Placement Test

Santa Margarita Catholic High School offered the High School Placement Test (HSPT) on the dates listed above. All 8th grade students that have an application on file at Santa Margarita are automatically registered for the exam. If you have not yet submitted an application to the school, you may begin by clicking here. If you would like to check on the status of your application, please log back into your student portal by clicking here. Any student that has not paid the $60 application fee will be required to submit that payment prior to taking the placement test and again, if you are in doubt, please log back into your student portal to check on that. We will accept payment by check or cash on the morning of the test.

Test takers should arrive between 7:30 am and 7:45 am and they will be finished at 12:30 pm. Check in will be held at the front of the school at the Antonio Parkway entrance. A morning snack will be provided but students should make sure to have a good breakfast. If there are any food restrictions, students are welcome to bring their own snack. We will provide everything needed for this exam, including pencils, so students do not need to bring anything. Calculators are NOT allowed. This is the same test that other Orange County Catholic schools administer so students only need to test one time at one location, as we do share test scores among the other schools.
