Dates for events and rehearsals found on the SMCHS Talon Theatre Calendar.
2019 spring Production:
PHANTOM with Book by Arthur Kopit, Music and Lyrics by Maury Yeston is based on the novel “The Phantom of the Opera” by Gaston Leroux. This mesmerizing musical boasts a rhapsodic score that entrances, moves, and haunts. The emotional story explores more deeply than other versions, the man behind the mask, Erik, and his love of beauty found in the exquisite singing of his protégé, Christine. The richly developed characters elicit empathy, pathos, and understanding.

TECH CREW INFORMATION:
Putting on a production involves a lot of people doing many different jobs. In order to have a successful show, the technicians must all rely on each other for support and communicate with each other as a team. Being a part of the Talon Theatre Tech Crew is a special experience because students learn how much goes into a production by doing it all. Students get an amazing opportunity to be a part of building something from scratch and learning special skills by painting the props for a show, hanging the lights, finding the costumes for the actors to wear, or calling every cue for technicians during the performances! Every job is incredibly important and it is such an awesome moment when you see the show come together. You do not have to have any experience in technical theatre because we will train you! This is a big part of the Talon Talon Theatre program and we can help you grow in any area in which you wish to thrive.
The upcoming spring musical, Phantom, will provide unique tech opportunities—like a Special Effects Crew, a Fly Crew, and will include many specialty props, projections, and environmental production effects. This is truly a unique show and it will certainly need a lot of technicians to support it. Please print and fill out the documents below. Deadline to submit is Jan. 16th to Ms. Craig in the Performing Arts Department.
For any student eager to learn and crew other events, the Beginning Tech class would lay the foundation needed to succeed in any crew for upcoming productions. Please go to the Talon Academy of the Arts web page for more information and the application.
