(f) UC Approval Pending
AP 2D Art and Design will offer the student the opportunity to develop skills that artists use to create a portfolio of work. The AP 2D Art and Design student will develop the topic for their ‘sustained investigation’, namely a central theme of their choosing, while combining materials, processes, and ideas using the elements and principles of 2D art and design. Through the use, practice, experimentation, and revision of works the student artist will go on an exploratory journey of the topic they have chosen. The student can use any 2D materials and processes that aid in this exploration including graphic design, photography, collage, printmaking, drawing, painting, and fashion design. 3D work is not permitted in the AP 2D Art and Design portfolio. The student will digitally submit their portfolio to the College Board for their AP score.
Length of Course: Year Open to Grades: 11,12
