In this yearlong course, through the creation of drawings, sketches, physical models, constructions, and architectural plan reading, students will gain an understanding of architectural three-dimensional art concepts and theory, technics, design elements, and principles, related to historic and contemporary architects. Students will gain an understanding of space, form, function and will be introduced to the various fields of architecture, such as construction, interior design, and urbanism. In addition, students will learn the history of architecture design, architectural styles, and related careers. Students will use both hands on and digital approaches. They will engage in projects throughout the semester that teach creative problem solving, critical thinking and the development of technical skills.
