Brad Finneran '94 - Varsity Head Coach

Santa Margarita Catholic High School is proud to announce the first ever Girls Flag Football Head Coach, Mr. Brad Finneran '94. Coach Finneran '94 is an Alumni of SMCHS, Class of 94, where he played football and basketball. His football career carried on past SM as he played at Villanova University. He graduated Villanova, class of 98, with a degree in Business Management. Coach Finneran resides in Trabuco Canyon with his wife Lindsay and his daughters Brooke and Avery. When asked about what he looked forward to most about his new position, he said, "I am looking forward to coming back to SMCHS in this role and I am excited for the inaugural Girls Flag Football season."

Jeromy Ratzlaff- Varsity offensive coordinator

Coach Ratzlaff has been a board-certified chiropractor for 20 years and the owner of Trojan medical center. He played 4 years of high school football and one year of football in junior college, before transferring to USC. Coach Ratzlaff obtained his BS in Kinesiology from USC and his Doctor of Chiropractic from Southern California University of Health Sciences. He has coached flag football for over 8 years in the FNL league as well as 7 on 7 for the OC Trojans. He is very excited to be one of the first coaches to Coach girls flag football in the state of California.

Jim Lam- Defensive Coordinator

Jim Bastian- Junior Varsity Head Coach

Coach Bastian is a partner with the Irvine law firm Shulman Bastian Friedman & Bui LLP.  He obtained his BA in Political Science from UCLA and his JD from Southwestern University in Los Angeles. Coach Bastian has been a volunteer youth sports coach for over 30 years including 9 years with Santa Margarita Pop Warner. He is also chair of the Board of Directors of Lion’s Heart and serves on the Community Board which governs Mission Hospital.
