As a Catholic school community, we recognize the Mass as the source and summit of our faith. Below are the scheduled dates for our all-school masses.

Daily Mass:

• Location: Campus Chapel
• Time: 10 minutes after the last period of the day, except on retreat days. These daily moments of worship and reflection are an integral part of SM's community and spiritual life.

All-School Liturgies: 

Adoration is held in the Sacred Heart Chapel during both lunches on Wednesdays. 

In the spirit of Jesus and His message, Campus Ministry, in conjunction with the Theology Department, offers an alternative class for senior religion called Peer Ministry. The first semester of the class emphasizes Christian leadership while the second half focuses on world spirituality. The class trains students to be peer ministers with students planning all-school masses, school prayer services, retreats for all grade levels, praise and worship activities, Christian service projects and most importantly, students are encouraged to create new ministry opportunities for the SMCHS community. Students must be willing to attend meetings and events after school, before school and/or on the weekends. The Peer Ministry class equips students with the ability to be leaders in their church, local community as well as in college. In a broader sense, they go out knowing what it means to be a servant leader.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered to all students twice a year through a student’s religion class. Reconciliation is held in the Moiso Family Pavilion. All are welcome to attend. Reconciliation is also offered on Wednesday during both lunches in the Sacred Heart Chapel on campus. 

The senior pilgrimage, an SM tradition, started in 2000. Each year on Holy Thursday, seniors walk from Santa Margarita Catholic High School to the San Juan Capistrano Basilica. Every step of this 13.7 mile is sacred as it is lifted to God in the name of a person or cause in need of prayers. The pilgrimage concludes with lunch and a prayer service.

Santa Margarita’s Campus Ministry team is trained to provide pastoral care to students including grief support. If you are grieving due to the loss of a friend or loved one, we invite you to join a special grief group to find care from others who are struggling too. Throughout the year, Santa Margarita students gather for powerful nights of worship with live music, a message and adoration. Open to all students, parents, faculty and staff, these nights are a great way to ignite or boost your relationship with God. They are also a great source of fellowship and community!

Throughout the year, our Campus Ministry team offers opportunities to connect with God and one another through various events including "Pizza and Jesus" at lunch with adoration followed by pizza and fellowship, Bible study and more! 
 

SMCHS is a proud partner with Hallow, the No. 1 Catholic prayer platform to help strengthen both the mental and spiritual health of our school community. Hallow contains over 10,000 audio-guided prayers spanning from quick meditations to entire holy hours, dozen of music albums and praylists and everything in between. Through the school's partnership, all students have access to everything on the platform including prayers specifically designed for teens and families.
